In Our Daily Living, Caution, Wisdom And Prayers Have Become Indispensable

“Nothing in the world is more dangerous

than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity”

– Martin Luther King Jr

Fela Anikulapo Kuti, one of Nigeria’s foremost singers may have left this world, but his songs lives on. One of his evergreen songs done in pidgin English [a simplified English language very popular in Nigeria] goes thus :

If you dey follow follow, make you open eye…

One interpretation of this is, if you are following people to do the things that they are doing or the things they want you to do, you should do them with wisdom and caution and where necessary, refuse to do it (them). Sadly, for some people, this good advice is only heard and even sung, but the strong message in the song is often relegated to the background or to insignificance.

As Christians, our BIBLE should be our first and major guide. It provides answers to ALL questions about God and Jesus Christ. What we have to do is to read and read and read…

One of the things we have to be cautious and wise about is the revelation of our Lord Jesus…

False messiahs and false prophets will appear

and perform great signs and wonders to deceive,

if possible, even the elect. –(Matt 24:24)

Note..… “even the elect.” Further say, He counsels…

“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing,

but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

You will know them by their fruits…” – (Matt 7:15-16)

There is nothing wrong in seeking help from a pastor (or someone else). However, GOD’s words, not Michael Monday’s, says we should “beware.” I refuse to act as if I am wiser than GOD. Thus, extreme caution, wisdom and prayers will keep us from ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing. In desperation to get miracles, deliverance, prosperity or power(and much more), some people have shunned caution and wisdom and ended up with regrets or “complex webs of regrets.”

I do know that some people are specially anointed with the power of God; and sometimes, we need help from these servants of God who are stronger than us spiritually. But, as God’s word counsels, “beware…” and “…you will know them by their fruits…”

But do we really have to run after pastors for help all the time? Is it only pastors that God listens to? The answer is NO !!! I am a living witness to the awesome and fearsome power of GOD. I love God so much because He is one great being who does not look down on anyone. He listens and hears, irrespective of our social, economic or spiritual status. He simply says….

“but as many as received Him,

to them gave He power

to become the sons of GOD.” – (John 1:12)

As a child of GOD, you enjoy all the benefits including answers to your prayers. Dear friend, God truly answers prayers!!! But read this…

Truly, I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain

‘go, throw yourself into the sea’

and does not doubt in their heart

but beliefs that what they say will happen,

it will be done for them – (NIV Mark 11:23)

But even at that, GOD IS AWESOMELY MAGNANIMOUS !!!  Cast all your worries upon Him for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).  You are sure of no regrets, no tears and sorrow, no payments, no mistakes, no imperfection, no consequences, no deceits, no abuse, honesty, complete answers to your prayers, no “hidden charges” and the pure, awesome power, love, grace and mercies of the God of gods and the Lord of lords. Start praying, if you have not…TODAY !!!  I invite you to read my testimonies under my “Inspiration” category.

I pray for GOD’s guidance and wisdom in all that we do and may He always remind us to commit all that concerns us into His ever-reliable care, in Jesus name, amen.

Thanks for your time.

Commit Your Ways Into The Hands Of The Lord…

Hi pal. It’s been a while I shared my thoughts 🙂 I hope you are doing well?

About three weeks ago, I went to the bank to get some cash. As I approached the gate, I heard “praise and worship” going on behind the gate house. I wondered who could be doing that as I have NEVER seen or heard where such a thing took place in a bank or highbrow organisation before. That however excludes my place of work. We rely so much on God and it has really paid off.

As I stepped in and walked pass the gatehouse, I discovered that it was actually being done by the security officials of the bank. I felt really touched, not only because it was very uncommon, but because their praise and worship acknowledged one of my strongest beliefs….

Except God watches over a city,

the watchman waketh but in vain (Psa 127:1)

My interpretation of what they were doing was simply committing their ways into the ever reliable care and protection of the Lord. They were simply telling God that indeed, the protection of the bank was actually within God’s powers and not theirs. They knew very well that it will take robbers very little effort to render them “useless” in the security job that they were supposed to be doing. Like David, they thought it wise to confront the challenges, risks and dangers associated with their job with an attitude and mind set of….

If God be for you,

who can be against you? (Rom 8:31)

And just like Solomon, they asked God for help and wisdom (1 Kings 3) in the discharge of their duties. As God lives, JEHOVAH GOD who sees their needy hearts will sure live up to their expectations in Jesus name, and would also encourage (and continue to encourage) other people to rely and trust in Him.

Some people belief and trust so much on their abilities, judgments and the ways, thoughts, help and pronouncements of man. Well, different strokes for different folks. I used to, but now, I know better. As they say “experience is the best teacher.” For me, my morning is not complete without praying to God and asking Him to take FULL CONTROL of all my undertakings of the day, and those of my family. This prayer always soothes my nerves, assures me and really works like a GENERAL INSURANCE POLICY for me 🙂

Committing one’s ways into His hands is a sign of total submission to His all-knowing abilities, flawless decisions and unmatchable power. One is simply saying “LORD, I AM COUNTING ON YOU.” And I trust Him. At the end, you will have testimonies to share, as I have been doing on my blog, and will continue to do.

So, is it family or relationship issues, career issues, job change, relocation, choice of business/location, security, oppression from anyone?….Name it. GOD will turn them all into testimonies for you. Just commit all your always to God in prayer and see the outcome 🙂

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.(Isaiah 55:8)

Therefore brother/sister….

Cast thy burden upon the LORD,

and he shall sustain thee:

he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.(Psa 55:22)

The taste of the pudding is in the eating 🙂

Thanks for your time and GOD bless you….and me too 🙂

Put Your Trust And Confidence In God…Not Man

Few weeks ago, something “funny” happened in my place of residence. Robbers had a field day on the jeep of a neigbour of mine, in the midnight of that fateful day. They removed almost everything detachable from the body of the vehicle. All this while, the alarm system which was supposed to “secure” the vehicle did not go off. It was at the tail end of the robbery, when the owner of the vehicle came out and challenged them, that the alarm went off. They all escaped with their loot.

In another incident, a very rich man built high walls around his house, obviously to keep himself and his family “safe.” His gate was huge. These were complimented by security men. However, these did not prevent his home from being attacked. How? The robbers simply waited for someone to come out through the gate, and at gun point, escorted her back into the compound. All forms of security failed on that day.

What about the man who “fortified” himself and his home with charms from a supposedly powerful witch doctor and ended up dying an untimely death together with his “god.”

How do you see a man who puts his life and the lives of every member of his family into the hands of his driver and car. “I trust my wonderful driver and car” he says. They went out and were involved in a ghastly accident. No one survived !!!

Still, imagine a body guard who turns around to kill the same person he was supposed to protect !

On a larger scale, governments at all levels, all over the world, keep trying their best everyday to protect our lives and properties. But you and I know the reality on ground.

I could go on and on and on….

My journey through life has made me not to have faith in man-made security. Why? Man has failed sooo many times. Man has his limits. He tries very hard to provide security within his limited knowlege, power and resources. This is the main reason why man will forever provide what I chose to call FAILURE-PRONE SECURITY. This is exactly what we have today !!!

Along the line I came across what has become a part of me for for so long. It’s in Psalm 127:1. It says : “…except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” This has formed the basis of my prayers on security ever since I discovered it.

It follows that the alarm, high walls, guns, security men and similar forms of security will have greater efficacy if God is involved in the “security arrangement.” Interestingly, what we have is a total trust and confidence in man and man-made security. The result is what we have today.

So, if you seek my opinion, I’d say put security measures in place. Sure. That’s cool. But remember that “…except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”

May the mercies and grace of God continually keep us safe.

Thanks for your time 🙂
