Using God’s Antecedents As FAITH BUILDERS

bible-4

“God is not a man, that he should lie;

neither the son of man, that he should repent:

hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken,

and shall he not make it good?” – Numbers 23:19

Have you ever finished praying and thereafter, start having doubts as to whether God will grant your request? Or perhaps there is a delay in your prayers being answered and you begin to wonder if GOD is able or still has the ability to do as you requested? If you have, then brighten up ‘cos you are not alone on this 🙂 I have found myself in this situation a number of times.

Now faith is substance of things hoped for,

the evidence of things of things not seen – Heb 11:1

One of the greatest problems Christians and indeed, most people who go to God for help, have been facing is the LACK OF FAITH. Even some Pastors, who are sincere, will open up and tell you that they have encountered this problem, at one time or another.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him:

for he that cometh to God must belief that He is,

and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him – Heb 11:6

As someone who has grown up seeing God Almighty as an indispensable part of my existence, I just had to evolve a means of breaking free from this MONSTER that had constituted itself as a huge barrier between man and God Almighty. A sick acquaintance once concluded that God can never heal him. Imagine that!!! And with that belief, he, and like so many people like him, have distanced themselves from GOD and all He stands for, and consequently, have not been able to benefit from the awesome power of God.

Faith building is therefore an exercise that we have to do if we will not end up disconnecting ourselves from the most reliable, regret-free, potent, and powerful source of help. Have you been doing this?

And the Lord said, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed,

ye might say unto this sycamine tree,

Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea,

and it should obey you – Luke 17:6

Read my recipe for faith building….

Once, my son’s (5 years+) friend did not allow him to touch his toy. My son said to him: “my daddy will buy me a better toy.” He turned to me and asked: ”daddy wouldn’t you?” I answered: “of course.” There was this confidence that he exuded when he told his friend what he knew I will do. That is not the first time something like that will happen. My son simply based his confidence on my antecedents.

Interestingly, this encounter between my son and his friend is similar to how I have been able to build my faith from the very low level it was before, to where it is today. All I do I do is to use God’s antecedents as my FAITH BUILDERS. I am not alone on this.

When David had to face Goliath, he did not depend on his ability, he said to Saul…..

“The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion

and out of the paw of the bear,

he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.

And Saul said unto David, Go and the Lord be with thee – 1 Sam 17:36

He had confidence in God because of His antecedents. He believed that God was very reliable and could be trusted to do it again and again. He believed that God’s power was not seasonal and had no limit regardless of who or what the opposing power was. Like me, he pondered over what God had done for him in the past and used them as FAITH BUILDERS. At the end, David was not disappointed….

And David put his hand in his bag and took thence a stone and slang it,

and smote the Philistine in his forehead,

that the stone sunk into his forehead;

and he fell upon his face to the earth –  1 Sam 17:49

I was not the stone that killed Goliath. It was the power of God that followed the stone to do the damage.

We put confidence in people because they have been tested and are trust worthy. Since they have fared well in a particular activity, we believe that they will always live up to expectations. If we can do this in respect of mere humans, why not with respect to God. The Bible and my blog are awash with awesome miracles and wonderful testimonies about God. In fact, I have labeled one chapter of the Bible MY COMFORTER. It’s Exodus 14. Please find time to read it. Please also find time to read one of my favourite posts centered on MY COMFORTER. It is one of my greatest FAITH BUILDERS.

So, like David, what I do when I pray is to put God in remembrance. I remind Him of His awesome deeds of the past. I don’t do this because God has a bad memory, but because He has instructed us to do so.…

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together :

declare thou, that thou mayest be justified – Isaiah 43:26

Faith building is a gradual thing. It does not just happen. It happens over time. It requires a deliberate and conscious effort and a strong determination to cleave to God. There are bound to be challenges. You will see, hear and read things that will attack your efforts to build up your faith. But since you expect these challenges to come, you look beyond them. Surmounting these challenges becomes easier when you have an attitude of “I expected it.” Feed your mind with positive things about God. Pray for His guidance and assistance. Go to church regularly. Read the Bible regularly. Read, listen to, and watch testimonies. These will help you build up a “basket of testimonies.” These will also help you build up your confidence in God and ultimately become FAITH BUILDERS for you. For if God can be awesome yesterday, He will be today and ALWAYS. For He has said…

For I am the Lord, I change not – (Malachi 3:6)

Wishing you loads of God’s luck in your FAITH BUILDING 🙂

Thanks for your time

Keep Your Head Up….Breakthrough Lies Ahead

IMG_20131227_113138 (1)Have you ever found yourself in a very difficult situation, where you find yourself in deep thoughts enmeshed in hopelessness and a feeling that seems to scream “GIVE UP. IT’S NO USE?” As such times, it seems as if it is all over. You don’t seem to see any light at the end of the tunnel. It seems you are the worst sinner on earth who is probably suffering for his/her sins. In extreme cases, you may have thought of doing some nasty things. And as such times, all you feel like doing is to put you head down, with or without you hand providing support and soak yourself in a feat of worry. Well, if you have, you are not alone because I have found myself in similar situations a number of times 🙂

I do not know where I got it from – I have a “die-hard” kind of attitude. My son also has this “daddy I can do it” attitude 🙂 I always believe that I am very close to my goal…my target…a solution to my problems or an answer to a nagging question. I am always afraid that I may later discover, painfully, that an option or action I shunned was actually my joker. Even though it is natural to worry, I have discovered over time, that worrying itself, is a monster on its own, which can destroy one, if one is not very careful. Many cases of hypertension have been traced to worrying and mental stress. Doctors said my mother died of complications arising from hypertension. This occurred after the death of my dad. How sad.

As I speak, I have some underachieved targets in life. One fact no can take away from me is that every problem under heaven, has a solution. I only need to look for it. In looking for it, I have discovered that obstacles have one mission; and that is, to live up to the meaning of the word itself – to prevent me from reaching my goals. I have also discovered that ALL obstacles can, have been and will always be surmountable. So, rather that brood over problems, I have developed an attitude which makes me to constantly search for “bridges” that will take me to my targets, my goals, my sweet dream and my happiness 🙂  As I do this, I am not oblivious of the fact that I can NEVER make good success without GOD’s help. His words provide me loads of hope.

My journey through life has shown that a lot of people have achieved huge successes in their endeavous mainly because they stayed on…they refused to give up….they believed in themselves….they believed that success and overcoming challenges usually require staying focused and excessively determined to follow the paths that will lead to breakthroughs.

Success stories abound everywhere – in all sectors and in all strata of life. Aside from those who inherit success/wealth from parents or other sources, all success stories are similar – loads of hard work, determination, refusal to accept failure and always keeping heads up when failure or challenges force heads down in order to avoid worrying into permanent failure. This is the path I have “planted” myself. So, when trouble, failure, problems or challenges force my head down, I put it up again and again 🙂 We can see clearer, hear better and think better with our heads up.  It takes courage, resilience and guts to stare problems in the face and mutter  “it shall come to pass” as I am used to muttering.

In all of this, problems and challenges are determined to stay with us for as long as we unable to do the right things to eliminate them. So, let’s keep our heads up….fight problems and challenges……and we shall overcome, by the grace of God 🙂

God bless and direct us all, amen.

Thanks for your time 🙂

Commit Your Ways Into The Hands Of The Lord…

mediflip god

Hi pal. It’s been a while I shared my thoughts 🙂 I hope you are doing well?

About three weeks ago, I went to the bank to get some cash. As I approached the gate, I heard “praise and worship” going on behind the gate house. I wondered who could be doing that as I have NEVER seen or heard where such a thing took place in a bank or highbrow organisation before. That however excludes my place of work. We rely so much on God and it has really paid off.

As I stepped in and walked pass the gatehouse, I discovered that it was actually being done by the security officials of the bank. I felt really touched, not only because it was very uncommon, but because their praise and worship acknowledged one of my strongest beliefs….

Except God watches over a city,

the watchman waketh but in vain (Psa 127:1)

My interpretation of what they were doing was simply committing their ways into the ever reliable care and protection of the Lord. They were simply telling God that indeed, the protection of the bank was actually within God’s powers and not theirs. They knew very well that it will take robbers very little effort to render them “useless” in the security job that they were supposed to be doing. Like David, they thought it wise to confront the challenges, risks and dangers associated with their job with an attitude and mind set of….

If God be for you,

who can be against you? (Rom 8:31)

And just like Solomon, they asked God for help and wisdom (1 Kings 3) in the discharge of their duties. As God lives, JEHOVAH GOD who sees their needy hearts will sure live up to their expectations in Jesus name, and would also encourage (and continue to encourage) other people to rely and trust in Him.

Some people belief and trust so much on their abilities, judgments and the ways, thoughts, help and pronouncements of man. Well, different strokes for different folks. I used to, but now, I know better. As they say “experience is the best teacher.” For me, my morning is not complete without praying to God and asking Him to take FULL CONTROL of all my undertakings of the day, and those of my family. This prayer always soothes my nerves, assures me and really works like a GENERAL INSURANCE POLICY for me 🙂

Committing one’s ways into His hands is a sign of total submission to His all-knowing abilities, flawless decisions and unmatchable power. One is simply saying “LORD, I AM COUNTING ON YOU.” And I trust Him. At the end, you will have testimonies to share, as I have been doing on my blog, and will continue to do.

So, is it family or relationship issues, career issues, job change, relocation, choice of business/location, security, oppression from anyone?….Name it. GOD will turn them all into testimonies for you. Just commit all your always to God in prayer and see the outcome 🙂

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.(Isaiah 55:8)

Therefore brother/sister….

Cast thy burden upon the LORD,

and he shall sustain thee:

he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.(Psa 55:22)

The taste of the pudding is in the eating 🙂

Thanks for your time and GOD bless you….and me too 🙂

Hi pals. It’s been  a while. I have been caught up with so much work lately. I t feels good to be back, especially as I bring good news to those in pain and sorrow; and to those who seem to be saying “God has abandoned me” or “God can NEVER see me through my pains and sorrow.”

Flashback 3 (please check out Flashback 1 and Flashback 2) brings back some of my messages of hope which I have shared in the past, and which is still strengthening people around the world, and which I belief still have the potency to do even much more today. Glory to God !

Flashback 3 is a special dedication to three people that I know who have been waiting on God for many years to become mothers. I feel your pains. I join my faith with yours and wish tons of testimonies sooner than you can ever imagine. Please read and have faith that…

Exodus Chapter 14…My Comforter…

“God will make a way

when there seems to be no way

He works in ways we cannot see

He will make a way for me….”

Don Moen

Hii. I have done quite a number of posts on the “awesome power of God.” But I don’t know why I keep having the urge to dwell on an event recorded in Exodus 14, which I have been refering to as “My Comforter.” I call the chapter My Comforter because that is exactly what it does each time I read or reflected on it – it comforts and strengtens me.

I have a feeling that there is someone out there who really needs to be comforted. So I said I won’t sleep until this post hits my blog….

Exodus chapter 14 is a story of “hopelessness turned into testimony.” To me, I am yet to find another hopeless situation that is worse than what we have in that chapter.

Imagine the scene. A mighty red sea in front and thousands of war-ready Egyptians behind, with the unarmed Isrealites in the middle. I guess the Isrealites would have started preparing for their death or capture. “And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord.” (Verse 10)

In the midst of this obviously hopeless situation, it really sounded stupid when Moses “said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”(Verse 13)

I don’t know what I would have said or done in that situation. I would have been really provoked if I had heard the Lord say “unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward” (verse 15). Go forward? To where? Into the sea !!!?

But, on God’s instruction, “…Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.”(Verse 21-22). Woww !!!

And so, in an obviously hopeless situation, “….the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore. And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.”(Verse 30-31)

So, my friend, draw your conclusions….from “My Comforter”……

God bless you 🙂

when there seems to be no way

He works in ways we cannot see

He will make a way for me….”

Truly, God answers prayers

He Listens…He hears…Any time, Any Where And Any How…

I was just pondering over the one-of-a kind nature of God, and I decided to share it with you….

Have you ever experienced a situation whereby you wanted to tell someone something and what you hear was : “can’t you see I am talking to someone!”

What about asking for a favour on phone and what you hear is :”speak louder. I can’t hear you” or you hear: “I can’t hear you. The line is breaking.” The worst of all is trying to make a call during an emergency and a bad network connection makes it impossible.

Still, have you spoken to your boss, parents or someone older than you, while sitting down and they yell at you: “don’t you have respect?!”

What about a very funny sight in a football match where you see the two sides bow their heads and pray….to the same God !

Another interesting one is imagining the thousands of languages across the world – all of which are used to pray to God. What about the billions of locations from where all of these prayers takes place.

The most touching of all, is the prayers of sinners – sinners like me.

In all of these situations, God hears and listens. How He responds is not the issue here; but the fact that God hears and listens to everything we say….anytime, anyhow or anywhere.

So, talk to God always…whenever, however and where ever you want to. He is not man…and would never be !!!

Have a blissful day 🙂

NB: All of my personal posts about God are based on my personal experiences. They are not fiction or make-belief stories (except where I say they are). I share them with you with 100% confidence, believing that God will prove Himself to you 🙂

Equiping Ourselves For A “Case” Against God !

Bible-4.jpgAs a Business and Accounting student, my best course (subject) was law (different branches). I loved the way the legal profession worked – all I needed to do was to convince my lecturers that my answer was right (even when it was not). To do this, I needed to quote statutory provisions and cite decided cases, among others, to prove that my answer was right. Most of the answers I got wrong were those I could not “convince” or put my lecturers in remembrance.

Over time, in my quest for spiritual growth, I found out that my relationship with God, especially as it relates to my prayer life, was actually similar to the one I had with my law lecturers. I discovered that, God too, needed me to engage Him in an argument. See what I found : “Put Me in remembrance [remind Me of your merits]; let us plead and argue together. Set forth your case, that you may be justified (proved right) Isaiah 43:26 (AMP).

To convince my lecturer, I had to fill my head with facts from law text books and materials. Similarly, to put God in remembrance and engage Him in an argument, I needed to fill my head with His words. The best place to get these was unarguably, the BIBLE !!!

What this meant was that I had to read my Bible much more than before in order to have enough facts to “win my case against God” 🙂 It also meant that I had to go to church and attend places of worship regularly to grow my “data base” of God’s amazing words.

This discovery affected, and still affects my prayer life till date. The words: “you said in your words (The Bible)” has become a permanent feature in my prayers. However, can God act like man by denying His own words? Can He go against His own words? Can He thwart justice by not declaring us the “winner” of “cases” we won?

It is really reassuring to read that “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Num 23:19-KJV). His words further adds : “Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” (Jere 1:12-KJV)

So, start reading your Bible often … everyday. If you have the opportunity, get the word of God from your church and other gatherings. Don’t just read the Bible, follow it diligently.

Then when you pray, “put Me in remembrance [remind Me of your merits]; let us plead and argue together. Set forth your case, that you may be justified (proved right) Isaiah 43:26 (AMP)….says the Lord.

What follows is testimonies. Wishing you and I loads of it.

God bless us all, amen
