Storms Of Life Vs Man…Who Wins ?

God-will-make-a-way.jpgOne of the big mistakes I used to make in the past, which was really affecting my relationship with God, was that, as a christian, I was immuned from “storms of life.” So, each time they came I asked God questions like “why should this happen to me with you by my side?” The situation often gives me mood swings, attacks my willingness to pray and reduces my confidence in God. The worst thing it does is to make me forget so soon, ALL that God has done for me, including “calming” a similar “storm” in the past. But, today, by the amazing grace of The Most High, I now know better.

Today, I know more. Today, I have developed a very thick skin to reduce the effects of “storms.” I have developed a attitude of “it shall come to pass.” Guess what? It’s really working for me. These days when they come, I say to myself, “it shall come to pass.” I back up this words with constant disturbance of my ONLY RELIABLE SOURCE OF HOPE. What really gives me this confidence is that the “storms” of the past have all been swallowed up by God. So, as God lives, this new one shall be calmed.

God never said we would not see challenges, difficulties or problems. In fact, He said we would see tribulations. He says : “these things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

So, in other not to compound our problems, our best option is to “be of good cheer” and deal with them. One way, and my approach, is to see storms of life as battles against us. It’s either we win or they do. We have to do everything possible to calm the storms – right attitude, very strong will to overcome, refusal to listen to anything contrary to the word of God and… praying without ceasing. We also have to be very careful what we say to God in our moment of “trial.”

“In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” – (Job 1: 22)

May the good Lord see us through all our challenges; and may He shower us with His grace to deal with the storms of life.

Thanks for your time.

Keep your head up : God is still God

Hand over your battles to God

With God all things are possible
